IPL Photorejuvenation
Our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments are delivered by Dr. Davis personally. This no-downtime procedure is best for photo-damaged skin. Treatment will remove age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, broken capillaries and the redness or erythema of rosacea. Preparation Before the IPL stop using any abrasive products on your skin. For example if you use a physical exfoliant scrub on your face don’t use it the week before your IPL. Also stop using topical exfoliants like Retin-A or other retanoid creams the week prior to treatment. Treatment The area treated will be covered with a gel and then treated with the IPL. The sensation is most often described as having a rubber-band snapped on the skin. For your comfort we recommend that you come in 15 minutes early for your appointment and use a topical anesthetic that we will provide. Treatment will take about an hour for your face. We can also treat sun spots on the hands and chest and other area of the body. After Treatment We will have removed your make-up before treatment so feel free to bring make-up with you to reapply after treatment. After treatment small areas of your skin that were sun damaged will darken and will peel off in week. You may also have a bit of redness like a sunburn that will subside in a few days to a week. A good mineral powder foundation will provide good and gentle coverage during this week. The week after treatment be gentle with your skin and don’t try to scrub the dark patches. They will naturally peel off and your brighter, more even skin will be revealed. Also remember to use sunblock especially the week after treatment. We highly recommend that you wear sunscreen every day regardless and this is a great time to start so that you prevent future sun damage. Ask our front desk to suggest a sunblock for you.

Laser Genesis Laser genesis is performed with Cutera’s 1064 nm wavelength laser, to improve wrinkles by gently heating the dermis; correcting diffuse redness, rosacea; smoothing skin texture, and shrinking pore size. We recommend a series of 5 treatments for best results spaced over 2-3 week intervals and this is often performed in conjunction with a series of IPL treatments to maximize results achieving a synergy between the two different treatment modalities. Laser Genesis is generally very easy to tolerate. It feels much like you are sitting on a beach and the sun is gently warming different areas of your skin. The same laser head has a further treatment option using a more focused higher energy Nd/Yag laser beam that effectively treats and eradicates small telangiectasias or superficial red blood vessels that cause unsightly streaks around and on the nose, chest, and legs. Dr. Davis will combine and utilize any of these varied treatments to achieve the greatest resolution of your skin problems. |
